Let’s get on the water! The goal of She’s at Sea Boat Handling program for women, is to boat safely, intelligently and independently.

Land Lessons

Class starts with a brief land lesson covering boating basics. We will review everything from preboating safety, reading a chart, and tying knots.

In this introductory course, we aren’t trying to sail the seven seas or trying to circumnavigate the world’s oceans. We are simply trying to get a handle on basic boating skills and to unpack a set of tools to use to make boating safe, manageable, and FUN.

Sea Sessions

Most of the class time will be spent on the boat, behind the helm. Sitting in a classroom only goes so far in managing a real boat.

Students will follow a progressive curriculum that will allow the boater to manage the vessel with precision. Docking, anchoring and maneuvering becomes manageable once we get a handle on boating with precision.

Class Schedule

This two day class will get you on your way to boating confidently! We will learn:

  • Preboating safety

  • Rules of the road

  • Navigation

  • Basic Knots

  • Boating with precision

  • Maneuvering in tight spaces

  • Docking

  • Navigation

  • Anchoring

Class start time is flexible in this private course. Each day we will be on the water for 4.5 hours. The cost of the two day class is $700 and includes all course material, a snazzy boating bag, and instructions for at-home follow up lessons.

The class is appropriate for up to three women.

Refresher Class

Schedule a refresher or a reset if you have skills but just want to formalize some of the details. I will tailor a class to meet you at your skill level and get you on your way to taking charge of your vessel.

The half day class (4.5 hours) is suitable for up to 3 young women and costs $375. A comprehensive “home work” program will be included as a take home for independent follow up.
